Infrared DryingIR Delivery Cassette2

Some drying systems apply heat needlessly. We believe cooler is better.
Explore IR’s features and benefits and discover the practical alternative for drying conventional inks and aqueous coatings.

Features

  • Color touch-screen control system operates the unit’s electrical functions and provides real-time analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Closed-loop refrigerated water cooling provides consistent, cooler temperatures of the reflector assembly, substrate, and adjacent press equipment.
  • Pre-assembled and tested device allows for quick and reliable installation.
  • Compact construction with simple connections will not interfere with operator tasks.
  • Custom fabricated equipment can be machined to fit presses for sheetfed, web, and conveyorized applications.

IR Interdeck3Benefits

  • Refrigerated dry air over the delivery and between print units stabilizes temperatures in the press, improving the drying process and yielding cooler pile temperatures.
  • Blanket washes, hickeys, and gas ghosting are significantly reduced, leading to increased production.
  • Spray powder use is reduced or eliminated because most of the drying takes place in the press, and there is a noticeable improvement in the overall printing results.
  • In-house design allows each system to be custom built, including component construction, physical layout, and operation of the system with the printing press.
  • The equipment does not require external shielding because it is not a UV system.

Functional Description

Aradiant’s Infrared Drying utilizes “tuned frequencies” of radiant energy  to efficiently dry the independent ink film, as shown in the diagram below. Interstation drying modules for each print unit allow for multiple exposures of radiant energy, resulting in shorter drying times. Aradiant’s Infrared Dryer is designed for four color and larger printing presses from 20 in (52 cm) to 80 in (200 cm) widths.

With the Aradiant IR Dryer, you can virtually eliminate spray powder without changing the way you print today. Improve print quality and performance, provide a cleaner environment for your presses and employees, and increase your capability to print and coat a wider range of substrates with fewer problems.

Major System ComponentsIR Electrical Cabinet

  • Mechanical and extruded components are designed with no moving parts for high quality, robust construction, and long service life.
  • Multiple IR emitters have 10,000 or more hours of life, yet are small in size and reasonably priced.
  • Refrigerated dry air-knife system scrubs away the solvent laden air between printing units.
  • Color touch-screen control system provides easy and efficient control of the system.
  • Combines easily with Aradiant’s curing and/or coating equipment for one complete turnkey system.

Aradiant believes that conventional ink drying, UV curing, and coating are integral parts of the printing process, not afterthoughts. Contact us today to find out how we can best meet your needs.
